BeoLab 8000 MK3 active speakers
- Made between 1992 and 2010.
- 1992-1993 3 (2.5) ways, after the 2 way
- 1999 upgraded base element
- 2003 upgraded circuits (ABL)
- 2010 replaced by BL 8002. The most important technical difference is that ABL is replaced by ICE.
Over the years BeoLab 8000, like its smaller partner BeoLab 6000, became an icon for Bang & Olufsen's design and proof of its excellent sound quality, which even after so many years from the first production year 1992 until now after 28 years still sits on top of today's new speakers, partly with its design and above all with its amazingly realistic sound reproduction.
The Beolab 8000 was originally manufactured in 1992 for to be part of the Beosystem AV9000 and Beocenter 9500 as front stereo speakers.
Beolab 8000 technical specifications remained untouched until 1998 when MKII without the ABL version was released which had received new base update and departed from 3 way to 2-way speaker system.
From January 2003, the BeoLab 8000 MK2 with ABL was available that provides extra bass at low levels, while not delivering as much as a BeoLab 2 (dedicated subwoofer), has a base drive With the newer BeoLab 8000 you received a significant improvement over its predecessors MK2 without ABL.
The upgrade meant new frequency equalization and improved ABL system. These improvements are usually seen at high volume levels.
MK2 with ABL (Adaptive Bass Linearisation) which was also given the nickname MK3 was released in 2003 (from serial number 16992475).
The Beolab 8000 speaker is available in a variety of strong colors, however, each and every one remains the color or material Aluminum with black fronts, the B&O lovers' big favorite.
The Beolab 8000 combines two power amplifier modules (one for bass and one for treble with an electronic crossover (split filter), two 10-inch bass speakers with a 19mm tweeter and ABL (Adaptive Bass Linearisation) and bass-reflex cabinets.
Connections:
- You can use either Power Link or Phono Input also called RCA Input.
- The Power Link connection is used in conjunction with B&O products.
- Phono Input (RCA Input) you can connect for example (Sonos Connect, or home theater system) or any other audio source.
Styling by BeoLab 80 00 has been timeless for the past three decades and will probably continue in Bang & Olufsen's range of speakers for a longer period of time.
BeoLab 8000 was replaced by BeoLab 8002 active speakers at the end of 2010.
