Over the years, BeoLab 8000, like its smaller partner BeoLab 6000, became an icon for Bang & Olufsen's design and proof of excellent sound quality. It was originally manufactured in 1992 to be part of the Beosystem AV9000 and Beocenter 9500 as front stereo speakers. The speaker's technical specifications remained untouched until 1998 when the MKII version was released which had received new bass update and it went away from 3 way to 2 way speaker system. The MK3 was released in 2003 (from serial number 16992475) when it was manufactured with newer drives that deliver extra bass reproduction at low listening levels. Not quite on par with a sub-woofer per se, the BeoLab 8000 still had an audible improvement over previous models. The upgrade of technology such as new frequency equalization and an improved ABL system to enable the speaker to play deep bass. BeoLab 8000 active speakers are made of high-gloss polished aluminum. The Beolab 8000 speaker was available in a range of strong colors, however, where the color or material Aluminum with black fronts remains, B&O lovers' big favorite. Beolab 8000 combines two power amplifier modules (one for bass and another for treble with an electronic crossover filter), two 10-inch subwoofers with a 19mm tweeter and ABL (Adaptive Bass Linearization) and a bass-reflex cabinet. Connections either you can use Power Link or Phono Input also called RCA Input. The Power Link connection is used together with B&O products, the Phono input (RCA input) you can connect for example (Sonos Connect, or home cinema system) or some other audio source. Styling of BeoLab 8000 has been timeless for the past two decades and will probably continue in Bang & Olufsen's range of speakers for a long time to come. BeoLab 8000 was replaced by BeoLab 8002 active speakers at the end of 2010.
